Synopsis

Walt “Big Walt” Dugan, a 60-something bar owner and lifelong Baltimore native, has run Dugan’s Taproom the same way for over thirty years—cheap beer, sports on the tube, and a strict “no nonsense” vibe. The regulars are all cut from the same cloth: blue-collar, old-fashioned, and as stuck in their ways as Walt himself.

But when a local LGBTQ+ charity rents out the bar for a fundraiser that accidentally goes viral on social media, Dugan’s becomes an overnight sensation. Drag shows, themed karaoke nights, and rainbow cocktails start pouring in—along with a whole new crowd. Suddenly, the same bar that once frowned at “anything too fancy” is trending on TikTok, drawing in influencers, media attention, and more money than Walt’s ever seen.

Walt finds himself reluctantly swept up in this unexpected renaissance. As profits rise, so does the pressure—from loyal regulars who feel alienated, new patrons who expect a safe space, and his own health, which is quickly deteriorating. Amidst it all, Walt’s buried feelings start to surface—about his past, his identity, and maybe even a budding attraction to one of the new performers.

Caught between holding on and letting go, Walt must decide: does he double down on who he’s always been, or embrace the strange new man he’s becoming?
