A Dramatic Comedy Based on a True Story

🎬 LOGLINE:
When a struggling American musician is wrongly jailed in Germany for armed robbery, he’s forced to navigate one of Europe’s toughest prisons with the help of a seasoned career criminal. Together, they form an unlikely bond and stumble into a web of corruption, betrayal, and survival—all while plotting a path to freedom.

🧩 PITCH PARAGRAPH:
After being mistakenly arrested for a string of violent taxi robberies, American expat and washed-up musician KASEY JONES finds himself trapped inside Munich’s notorious Stadelheim Prison. With no knowledge of the language, the justice system, or how to survive behind bars, he’s thrust into a shared cell with TSCHABO PFEIFER, a charismatic “gypsy” with 14 years of hard time and a reputation for both danger and loyalty. What begins as a terrifying incarceration turns into a strange, moving tale of friendship, criminal enterprise, and a prison conspiracy that could either free them—or bury them both for good.

đź“– SYNOPSIS:
Still reeling from another messy breakup with his flaky British girlfriend FIONA, KASEY JONES wakes up in the back of a parked taxi—drunk, depressed, and totally unaware that he’s about to be mistaken for Munich’s most wanted criminal. With a toy gun on his lap and cash in the front seat, police swarm the vehicle and arrest him for armed robbery and assault. He doesn’t speak German, can’t afford a proper lawyer, and quickly learns that in this system, guilty until proven innocent is the rule.

After a failed suicide attempt in his jail cell, Kasey is transferred to the prison medical wing where he meets the manipulative DR. SCHWARTZ and a fellow patient recovering from an infection: TSCHABO PFEIFER, a drug-addicted career criminal who takes Kasey under his wing. Once moved to the general prison block together, Tschabo teaches Kasey how to survive—mentally, physically, and socially—while the two develop a deep and unlikely friendship.

Together, they create a surprisingly sophisticated drug smuggling ring, using Kasey’s mandatory psych visits and church choir rehearsals to move heroin through the prison. But their scheme attracts attention. Tschabo’s outside connection, UWE, now wants control of the entire prison drug market. He sends in orders: deliver a large shipment of heroin to Turkish kingpin TAKA SYERE, and eliminate Dr. Schwartz.

Kasey and Tschabo delegate the deadly task to their naïve cell-runner, The Austrian Bum—unaware he’s actually JOSH LONN, an undercover agent embedded in the prison system to bust the very operation they’ve built. But when Kasey saves Lonn from an attempted gang assault and unknowingly provides key evidence, the tables turn. Lonn omits them from his official report and testimony, and instead exposes Dr. Schwartz’s corruption.

In the end, thanks to their accidental heroism, Kasey and Tschabo are released—one to a new life, and one back to his old one—with a bond that could’ve only been forged in hell… or Stadelheim.
